About 1.5 years ago I started sketching a piece that would turn out to be a lot more challenging than I anticipated. I put it away several times, often for months, because I thought I had reached a dead end with it. It just didn’t seem to work out for me.
After many, long breaks I picked it up again last December – and finally finished it. I am really happy with how it turned out. I put so much work into it, and in the end all those hours paid off: “Herr des Waldes”. A spirit that watches and rules over the forest. For the branches that are his antlers I decided to draw typically German broadleaf trees.
